Weather Vane - Once Human

Weather Vane

“After the Twilight sank during the Starfall, these Deviants—adorned in ostentatious winter clothing—began crawling ashore from the icy seawater.”

Characteristics

The Weather Vane’s head has been replaced by a nautical vane that no longer shifts harmlessly with the wind. Instead, it generates and controls freezing gales capable of immobilizing enemies and inflicting frostbite. These cold gusts also grant the Weather Vane unnatural agility, making them formidable foes in combat.

Behavior

Like their basic counterparts, Weather Vanes are parasitized by Living Ice—sentient Chaosium crystals driven by an extraordinary will to survive. These creatures can only be permanently defeated through exposure to high temperatures or by being knocked down a second time. Interestingly, Weather Vanes have a notable connection to Scout Elite Deviants, as they are rarely encountered without one nearby.

AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIORS

  • Freezing Gale: Generates frigid, damaging winds using their propeller-like head.

  • Snowballs: Forms and hurls frosty projectiles at targets.

  • Physical Attacks: Uses their icy limbs to bash enemies in close range.

Weaknesses

To maximize damage, aim for the Weather Vane’s propeller head. Despite some research claiming that exposure to high temperatures can prevent the Living Ice regeneration, testing with Molotovs has shown no evidence of supporting this theory.
